Do you feel confident that you can maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise routine? Do you feel dissatisfied with your muscle tone? If so, you may be considered a good candidate for CoolTone at Oceana Luxe MedSpa in Corpus Christi, TX. Today, we’re taking a closer look at who qualifies for this treatment, what results you can realistically expect, and what other body contouring treatments may benefit you. Let’s get started.
Who Is a Good Candidate for CoolTone?
You may be considered a good CoolTone candidate if you are dissatisfied with your abdominal muscle tone. Furthermore, you may be considered a good fit for this treatment if you want to improve the muscle tone in your quads, glutes, or hamstrings. However, you’ll need to sit down for an evaluation with a cosmetic expert to find out for sure if this treatment will benefit you. Depending on your body fat distribution, you may not achieve ideal results with this treatment.
If you have a lot of fat in your area of concern, you may need to lose fat in those areas before you consider CoolTone. We will advise you on this after we have discussed your cosmetic goals and evaluated your areas of concern.
Who Is a Poor Candidate for This Treatment?
You will be considered a poor candidate for this treatment if you are under the age of 18. You also will not qualify if you are suffering from obesity, a seizure disorder, or a bleeding disorder. To ensure that this FDA-approved body contouring treatment is safe for you, we will discuss your medical history thoroughly before determining if you are a good candidate.
Note that if you are still menstruating, you will not be able to receive abdominal treatment while you are on your own period. You also will not be able to receive treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, suffer from pulmonary insufficiency, have recently undergone surgery, or have implanted electrical, electronic, or metal implants or devices. Also, note that this is not a comprehensive list of conditions that will disqualify you from treatment.
How Should I Prepare for My Treatment?
You don’t need to do a lot to prepare for your CoolTone session. The most important step you need to take is to attend an initial evaluation. During this evaluation, we will talk about your problem areas and goals and provide you with the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. We will also develop your custom treatment plan and let you know what you can expect. We also will take pictures of your problem areas, so you can easily gauge your progress.
Another important preparation step you will need to take is to wear thin clothing that is free from metal. If you plan on wearing yoga pants, check the tag. Some pants are made of metal mesh fibers. If your clothes have “antimicrobial” on the label, they may contain silver. Similarly, it is important that you do not wear any jewelry to your appointment.
What Should I Eat Before My Appointment?
Eating isn’t necessary prior to your appointment, but if you want to eat, consider keeping your meal light. Alternatively, you may just want to eat a snack prior to treatment. It is not advisable to eat a heavy meal prior to treatment because your muscles will undergo a workout that would not be physically possible without electromagnetic energy stimulating your muscles.
What and when you drink prior to your appointment is far more important. It is very important that you are well-hydrated when you arrive for your appointment, but it is also a good idea to arrive with an empty bladder. Try drinking a lot the day before your treatment, but stop drinking a couple of hours pre-treatment.
What Should I Expect During My Treatment Session?
Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to complete if you are only targeting one area of concern. If you are targeting two areas of concern, you can expect each session to take around an hour. During this time, you will feel deep muscle contractions in the treatment area. The intense tension will be held for a few seconds. Then, your targeted muscles will have a chance to rest.
Note that this treatment will not be painful. There is no sedation or anesthesia involved, so you will be fully capable of communicating if you feel like your treatment is a little too intense. The device can go from 1-100% intensity. The higher the intensity you feel comfortable with, generally, the fewer sessions you can expect to need.
How Many Sessions Will I Need To Achieve My Desired Results?
Most people need between four and eight treatment sessions to achieve their desired muscle tone. Generally, the better your muscle tone is, the fewer treatments you can expect to need. However, you may need more sessions if you already have decent muscle tone, but also have a lot of fat in the problem area. We will let you know how many sessions would be ideal for you during your initial consultation.
How Soon Will I Be Able To See My Desired Results?
It is not generally advisable to have more than two CoolTone sessions per week. Therefore, you will probably need two to four weeks of treatment sessions. After that, it may take another three to four weeks to really see a physique you can be proud of. Individual results vary, though.
How Long Will My Results Last?
If you maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine, your results can last a lifetime. If you do not exercise, though, your toned muscles will start to atrophy. In such a case, you will need to come in for touch-up appointments every three to six months or so.
To help your results last for as long as possible, it is a very good idea to walk, cycle, or swim for at least 2.5 hours per week if your glutes or thighs are being targeted. Make planks and other ab exercises part of your routine if your goal is to improve the tone of your abdominal muscles. Just remember to also work your lower back muscles. If you only work your abs, you may develop a problematic muscular imbalance.
What Other Body Contouring Treatments May Help Me Improve My Confidence?
Most of us don’t just have dissatisfaction regarding our muscle tone. Rather, it is common that we also struggle with stubborn fat. If you have fat deposits that you just can’t seem to get rid of, you may be an excellent candidate for CoolSculpting Elite. CoolSculpting Elite is a non-invasive fat removal treatment that is taking the body contouring world by storm. Like the original CoolSculpting treatment, it is FDA-approved.
However, CoolSculpting Elite is much more effective and efficient than body contouring with the original CoolSculpting device. Individual results vary, but most people only need one to three treatment sessions per area of concern. For comparison, people often need four to six treatment sessions with the original CoolSculpting device. CoolSculpting Elite can be used to eliminate excess subcutaneous fat from just about anywhere. Popular areas include the:
- Flanks
- Hips
- Abdomen
- Thighs
- Buttocks
- Chest
- Back
Am I a Good Candidate for This Treatment?
There is an excellent chance that you will be considered a good CoolSculpting candidate if you have stubborn pockets of fat that don’t seem to respond to a caloric deficit. It’s impossible to spot-reduce fat with exercise, and you can’t modify your diet to make your body burn fat in an area of concern. It will burn fat from wherever it wants, and this mostly comes down to genetics. With CoolSculpting Elite, you can reduce fat deposits from select areas.
That said, CoolSculpting Elite isn’t right for everyone, including individuals who suffer from paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, cryoglobulinemia, or cold agglutinin disease. During your initial consultation, we will discuss your medical history thoroughly, including whether you have recently undergone surgery, have a hernia, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
